The principles that are part of Gestalt Psychology. It contains many principles in regards to Perception, such as:
- Principle of good continuation
- Pragnanz or Principle of good figure or the principle of simplicity

About 30 years after Helmholtz proposed his theory of unconscious inference, perception became a hot topic in Psychology - and still is - mainly through the work of the Gestalt psychologists (for an extensive review of their ideas, see Wagemans et al., 2012).
